Sedation Dentistry: Dental Care for Those Unable to Receive Normal Dental Treatments

Sedation dentistry is a great option for those who are regularly apprehensive with dental work or who have very sensitive teeth that makes dental work uncomfortable. The use of sedation in dentistry has come a long way and is now regarded as highly safe and effective. While sedation dentistry should not be used on every patient, it is an extremely successful method in terms of providing an anxiety-free dental appointment for those who typically are phobic. Sedation dentistry is best utilized for those patients who have a deep fear of dental work, whether it is from a traumatic experience or whether they simply have a dental-related phobia. It is also used on patients who have very sensitive teeth, and it is thus painful for dental work, as well as those patients who have gag reflexes. Previously, these patients often avoided the dentist altogether, with noticeable consequences. However, with the rise of sedation dentistry all varieties of patients can experience the proper dental care.

From there most patients are at ease and can have any number of dental services performed. Read the rest of this entry »

Careington Dental Plan – Making Affordable Dental Care A Reality For Millions

We look at the economy in the United States today and we feel like we are in trouble. The number of unemployed is holding steady and the number of jobs offering full benefits is declining. As Americans are seeing their incomes and benefits decline, one of the first things to be cut is dental insurance.

Nearly one in three people do not receive the attention their teeth and gums need to remain strong and healthy. Dental insurance is seen as an expensive frill available only to the super-rich. Enter the Careington Dental Plan.

Started in 1979, Careington originated with two dentists who wanted to see dental care offered to the public at an affordable rate. From as low as $6.95 per month, over eight million members have taken advantage of the benefits offered by Careington.

Here are a few advantages you enjoy with the Careington Dental Plan.

Rather than a large up-front annual payment, you are allowed to pay for your membership on an affordable monthly basis.
There are no waiting periods for any of your savings to begin.
There are no annual limits on plan savings.
Due to their size and experience, Careington has been able to negotiate some of the lowest discounted fees in the industry.

One drawback of the Careington Dental Plan is the fact that you are required to use a participating plan dentist, as not all dentists accept this or any dental plan. Your key to value is finding a suitable selection of dentists in your area who participate. However, that should not be a problem for most people, because Careington has assembled a network of over 64,000 participating dentists. Read the rest of this entry »
